Let me tell you about an honorary member of our team: Rebecca Zeff.

Rebecca brings sunshine into every single space she enters, every single time. Her very presence makes life better. She also “gets” people, and if you’re not up for sunshine she’ll hold the space you need. Rebecca’s Fundbox journey is long an inspiring.

Six and a half years ago, Rebecca started as a support rep. She worked ridiculous hours because she was committed. She was positive in the face of the most challenging customer calls. Being a brand new immigrant, she didn’t have the support network most of her colleagues did, but she didn’t bring that to work — she showed up fully, every time. Obviously she emerged as a natural leader and strategist and started managing the team two years later.

She grew the team in size but also in professional development, creating goals and growth paths for each one, customized to exactly what they wanted while working with the company to tailor the role in a way that would equally benefit the business and make sense to invest in, because she sees the whole picture and finds that way, as creative as she might need to be, to make sure everyone wins.

Her perspective, insights, creativity, and knack for strategy moved her to an even bigger role in operations. She pulled together teams across 10 time zones to drive cohesion, customer experience consistency and quality, all with cultural sensitivity, without which you can’t optimize any decentralized department. She brought so much to the support org, that it became clear that any team where she went in and did her thing, would be better for it. So she moved to product operations.

Product operations was new to the company and came at a time when the whole product department was going through some deep introspection and rethinking, and under new leadership. Essentially the messiest circumstances possible for Rebecca’s transition. Where someone else may have stepped aside and waited for the waters to calm, Rebecca ran into the storm head-on. She put her positivity, curiosity, humility, and dedication up front, ready to learn, whatever that was going to look like. She took initiative and also showed flexibility because she was going to do great things no matter what. She pivoted as necessary, was persistent when required because she doesn’t give up and she doesn’t stop bringing her all.

Rebecca is a rockstar and just when she’s mastered a thing, she goes and masters another. She’s one of the Fundboxers who I am most excited to see what they do next because the possibilities are endless. Seriosuly on the edge of my seat to see what great things she does next.
